Sept. 19: Memorize the greetings and goodbyes listed under section 1 of the Kapitel 1 notes. View the Begrüßunen und Abschiede PowerPoint and complete the Begruessungen arbeitsblatt.

Then complete section 1 on page 4 of the Deutsch Aktuell textbook. Then complete the “Wie heisst du arbeitsblatter” attached. E-mail Mrs. Smith for the PowerPoint as it is too large to post.
9/26-Turn to page 27 of the Deutsch Aktuell textbook and review the German alphabet pronunciation. Listen to the Alphabet pronunciation: http://www.songsforteaching.com/singdancelaugh/gdasalphabet.htm. Practice spelling words aloud using the German alphabet by completing section 19 on page 28.

- 10/16-Students will take a quiz on sein. You will take the quiz when you return to school. Please review the conjugation of sein by going online http://germansteps.com/present-tense-2/present-tense-of-sein-and-haben/present-tense-of-sein-exercise/ and taking the practice tests. Also, we will be preparing to meet the German exchange students. You need to create a list of 10 questions that you would like to ask the students. Questions should focus on life in Germany and not be personal. Appropriate questions might be: How does your school differ from CSD? What kind of music is popular right now in Germany? What sports are popular?
- 10/17-I will be out this day. Students will have a substitute assignment to complete. You should use Google to answer the questions in the attachment titled “Do you know Germany?”

- 10/22-This is our class’ first day with the German exchange students. In class, students will be talking to the exchange students and asking them questions about life in Germany. You should complete the attached chart by writing two to three questions in each column and then researching online to answer those questions.
- 10/23-Use the Kapitel 1 notes to learn the new question “Woher kommst du?” Match the countries with their English equivalents in the notes packet. Then complete the Continents attachment.
- 10/25-Complete the “Woher kommen sie?” activity on page 33 of the Deutsch Aktuell textbook. Follow the instructions and write in complete sentences.

11/5-I am going to be out this day. Students will have a packet to complete. Please complete the following attachments: GV pages 3,4,7, and 8 and Workbook pages 4, 5, and 6.
11/8-Using the Kapitel 1 notes packet that you received, review the notes on wohnen. Translate the example sentence at the end of the wohnen section. The write a dialogue in German about the picture shown on the Wohnen dialogue attachment.
11/9-Look over the verb conjugation section of the Kapitel 1 notes packet. Then read the verb conjugation explanation on page 25 of the textbook. Then create as many sentences as you can using the following table. Remember the sentences must be grammatically correct meaning the sentences must have the correct verb conjugation. (Ich bin ein Mädchen. -correct Ich ist ein Mädchen. -incorrect).
